Uphill Travel at Saddleback Mountain
Take a Tour of Saddleback on Our Dedicated Uphill Travel Route
Saddleback has been an uphill touring or “skinning” destination for many years. While the resort was closed, people took to the slopes of Saddleback to climb, take in the spectacular views, and make some nice turns down the natural snowpack.
Now that Saddleback is back and reopened, it’s still our mission to support the community of skiers and riders who choose man-or-woman-powered fun and winter exploration. Saddleback has a dedicated uphill travel route that follows the outskirts of the Hudson Highway slope and ascends to the summit alongside Tri-Color. View the Trail Map and the yellow uphill route HERE.
Hours of Permitted Access
Saddleback’s uphill trail is open when conditions permit. Before you go, please check the MOUNTAIN REPORT for the latest trail updates. Uphill access is permitted 1 hour before lift operations on Saddleback property. Downhill traffic is permitted beginning at 8:30 a.m. on weekends/holidays and 9 a.m. during the week. All traffic must be cleared from the mountain at 3:30 p.m., or by last chair.
Day Use Uphill Tickets
During the season, you are required to have an uphill ticket and sign our policy waiver. If you have a season pass, be sure to have that on you for your uphill travel. If you do not have a season pass, you will need to purchase an uphill ticket online. Your order confirmation email is your access pass.
