Afternoon Update: Sunday December 14, 2025. 12:45 PM
Good afternoon from your favorite mountain! The trails were in amazing condition this morning, and honestly there are so many of them that it’s getting hard to keep track of all the open trails, and even harder to hit every one of them in a single day’s skiing.
It felt downright balmy out there this morning, with almost no wind and just a few snow showers to help keep things fresh.
With the superb packed powder conditions, the absolute bounty of open terrain, and of course with tomorrow being Monday (which for many of you is a naughty word, we feel bad even mentioning it really), start thinking about a way to take a mid-week vacation day. Text a friend so you have company, make plans, and get yourself up here!
Sunday, December 14, 2025. 6:41AM
Sunday Fun-Day! We’ve got isolated snow showers forecast throughout the partly cloudy day with comfortable temperatures hovering around 20 degrees at the base. Yesterday we saw the opening of two Saddleback staples: Royal Coachman and Silver Doctor, as well as some great natural expert terrain off the Kennebago. After another round of grooming last night, surface conditions will be back in tip-top shape this morning. Snowmaking efforts are continuing on Grey Ghost, Sneaky Pete, Jitterbug, and Muddler.
An afternoon rope drop on the Intimidator glades yesterday means natural snow is still very much available today. It is still early season meaning thin coverage and hazards will be found on portions of our open natural terrain. With the expanded terrain we are up to 25+ open trails for your all-day enjoyment. Rangeley, Kennebago, and South Branch Quads are slated for an 8:30AM start time. Be there!
The Uphill action is off to a great start as well. Splitboarders and ski tourers alike valiantly earned every single one of their turns yesterday. Please remember that there is no egress point before the Warming Hut, and access to the summit via Upper Judge is not yet available. If exercise up before exercise down is your cup of tea – a Saddleback Season Pass, Uphill New England Pass, or an uphill day pass is required.
Looking forward to seeing you out there!
If you’re itching to get back up on the mountain, the best thing you can do is make sure you’re ready to go when the lifts spin. Looking for lift tickets? There’s no better time than right now to lock in your days – the earlier you buy, the more you’ll save.
