Ski & Snowboard Lessons
The Roger Page Ski & Ride School at Saddleback
Build Skills. Find Your Style. Love the Ride.
At Saddleback, learning is part of the adventure. Whether it’s your first time on snow or you’re ready to push yourself a little further, our experienced instructors are here to help you take it to the next level.
With 40+ acres of gentle beginner terrain, there’s always room to grow. Cruise down greens like Smelt Streamer, ride the Molly chunkamunk carpet, or explore the Happy Garrison Glades. Already comfortable on snow? We’ll help you carve like a pro, conquer moguls, or finally take that left toward Casablanca. No matter your level, we’ll make it fun.
We offer lessons for all ages and ability levels. Whether you choose private coaching, a group class, or a season-long program, each one is designed to build confidence and help you make the most of your time on the mountain.
Level 1 – First Timer I’ve never skied before. Learning how to slide, stop, and get comfortable on my skis.
Level 2 – Beginner I can stop on my own and make basic wedge turns on gentle green terrain.
Level 3 – Novice I can ride the chairlift and link turns on green trails. I’m starting to match my skis and build confidence.
Level 4 – Intermediate I ski parallel on green and easy blue trails. I can vary my turns and control speed, and I’m learning hockey stops and pole use.
Level 5 – Advanced/Expert I’m confident on all blue and black terrain, including bumps, glades, and ungroomed snow. I ski parallel with strong control and can explore the whole mountain.
SNOWBOARD LEVELS
Level 1 – First Timer I have never snowboarded before. Learning how to slide, traverse, and stop independently.
Level 2 – Beginner I can control my speed across the hill and stop on my own. I’m working on turning in both directions on green terrain.
Level 3 – Novice I can link heel- and toe-side skidded turns on green trails and am building confidence on easy blue terrain.
Level 4 – Intermediate I ride comfortably on all green and most blue terrain, varying turn shape and size. I’m starting to ride switch and explore ungroomed snow, small bumps, and freestyle features.
Level 5 – Advanced/Expert I’m confident across all blue and black terrain, groomed and ungroomed. I can ride with control and style through bumps, glades, freestyle zones.
