Celebrate fall in the mountains with a taste of Germany at Saddleback’s 5th annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Enjoy live music, amazing food, beer sampling from local breweries, kids activities, keg tossing, stein hoisting, axe throwing, plus spectacular fall foliage views with scenic lift rides on the Rangeley Express. And NEW for 2026, the UpCountry Artists Oktoberfest Art Show will feature work available to purchase from 15-20 local artists and artisans in the Saddleback Base Lodge, with proceeds supporting the UpCountry Artists Scholarship Fund.

Oktoberfest 5k Alpine Run
Back for its 6th year on Saturday, October 3, 2026, Saddleback’s 5k Alpine Run is one of the most scenic 5ks in Maine. Head up Saddleback’s gravel work road surrounded by peak foliage and sweeping views of the stunning Rangeley Lakes Region. Registration includes access to Oktoberfest, a scenic lift ride, and a commemorative logo item for all racers. Run the mountain, soak in the views, then stick around and celebrate Oktoberfest at the base!
UpCountry Artists Oktoberfest Art Show
Add a little local art to your Oktoberfest plans! The UpCountry Artists Oktoberfest Art Show brings talented artists and artisans from across Western Maine together at Saddleback, with plenty of one-of-kind pieces to browse and take home. Even better, proceeds from the show help support the UpCountry Artists Scholarship Fund, helping local high school students pursue their dreams in the arts.
Pete Kilpatrick Band
Grab a stein, find a spot on the Base Lodge Deck, and get ready to jam! The Pete Kilpatrick Band is bringing their folk-rock sound to Saddleback for Oktoberfest, taking the Base Lodge Deck from 1:30-3:30PM. Kick back with a cold one, take in the fall views, and let the Pete Kilpatrick Band provide the soundtrack to your Oktoberfest afternoon.
Axe Throwing Pit
Think you’ve got what it takes to throw like a lumberjack? The Axe Pit is rolling into Oktoberfest with its mobile axe throwing trailer, bringing a little friendly competition to the mountain. Whether you’re a seasoned thrower or picking up an axe for the first time, professional coaches will be there to show you the ropes and help you stick the bullseye. Grab your crew, step up to the target, and see who’s got the best throw in the bunch!
