Sustainable Slopes at Saddleback
Saddleback is committed to the future of outdoor recreation. It’s why we’ve added 50 acres of renewable energy, added the most EV chargers of any ski area in Maine, purchased two new eco-groomers to reduce our carbon footprint, and put a 7-MW DC solar farm online to generate enough clean energy to power our entire lodge, lifts, and snowmaking operation. This is just the beginning.
EV Charging Stations
Electric vehicles are here to stay. If you drive one, Saddleback wants to make your visit easier. That’s why we’ve installed 12 new EV charging stations in partnership with Revision Energy. Saddleback has the most EV charging of any ski area in the state of Maine.
Solar Power
Installing a solar farm on Saddleback property was never a question of if, but where. The site needed to make the least impact on the environment and on every living creature that calls the mountain and surrounding forest home. In partnership with Nexamp, we found the right site. We’re proud to say we now have 50+ acres of renewable energy infrastructure. This 7 MW DC solar farm has the capacity to power our lodge and mountain by generating twice the amount of clean energy needed to power the entire operation.

Saddleback’s comeback has been an undertaking of more than $30 million dollars in mountain improvements. At the core of this has been upholding Saddleback’s position to preserve the future of outdoor recreation. When Saddleback looked to implement 50 acres of renewable energy, the mountain turned to Nexamp to provide a thoughtful and tactful solar solution.
