What better way to explore the beauty of the many lakes and ponds of the Rangeley region than by boat! Saddleback Adventures offers guided canoe, kayak and SUP (stand up paddleboard) trips in the beautiful Rangeley Lakes Region for the beginner and seasoned paddler alike.

Paddling excursions will explore one of the four most classic lakes in the region, each with a unique paddle experience. All of our full day excursions will include a tasty to-go lunch prepared by our mountain chefs. Equipment for each trip will be provided by Saddleback Adventures.

  • Meeting Location - Ecopelagicon, A Nature Store on Pond St. in Rangeley. 
  • Cost: $150 per person 
  • Includes: Your Registered Maine Guide, lunch, equipment and transport.

Watersports 101 - A 1-hour Intro to the Sport of Your Choice

Short on time? From the Ecopelagicon Store in downtown Rangeley, the Saddleback Adventures team offers Watersports 101 for Kayak, Canoe, Stand Up Paddleboard and Windsurfing instruction. This includes equipment and a 1-hour introduction to the watersport. Learn about your vessel and paddling techniques that will get you ready to navigate the Rangeley Lakes Region!

  • Cost: $30 per person
  • Reservations: Max of persons group, per 1-hour block. 48-hour advanced notice encouraged to ensure availability.

Dawn & Dusk Common Loon Paddles

Take a guided paddle with Nick Leadley to observe loons of the Rangeley Lake Region. Nick is a specialized bird photographer and loon enthusiast. He has been photographing common loons and native wildlife for 20 years plus. He prides himself in sharing the splendors of the Rangeley region including its native inhabitants and fauna.

On these common loon paddles, take in the sights from a kayak accompanied by Nick’s rich knowledge of this wild corner of Maine. Meeting Location - Ecopelagicon, A Nature Store on Pond St. in Rangeley. Guests must arrive 20 minutes prior to their scheduled activity time. Open to ages 9+. Max of 6 per trip. Learn more.

Whitewater Kayaking and Windsurfing Workshops - Coming in July!

  • July 11th & 12th Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking with Northeast Whitewater. Cost: $400. Includes two full days of on-water instruction and equipment. For more info see event details here.
  • Introduction to Windsurfing dates coming soon! Get your feet wet and learn a new fun way to enjoy summer in Maine. Introduction courses will cover the basic of equipment and technique so you can enjoy the local lakes and rivers of Western Maine.
