Mountain Biking at Saddleback

Lift Serviced Mountain Biking Coming in Summer 2022

Please note: the South Branch mountain bike trails are currently closed. We will post an update on the opening date soon.

Last fall, Saddleback opened the first network of single-track mountain bike trails in the South Branch terrain on the mountain. The trail crew was busy all last summer hand cutting, shaping, grading, and dialing in these trails. That was just the beginning. This summer, Saddleback will offer lift-serviced mountain biking served by the South Branch Quad. Lift-serviced mountain biking is expected to open at the end of July 2022.

While we gear up for lift-serviced, Saddleback will offer bike and safety equipment rentals, lessons, and guided tours on the existing network of single-track bike trails. We will offer something for everyone, whether you're an experienced rider or have never been on a mountain bike. Rentals and lessons will kick off after Memorial Day Weekend. Watch the progression of the bike trail project here.

Keep an eye on this page and our social media for more updates coming soon. If you have further questions, please contact our Outdoor Programs Department

Saddleback Bike Trails Planned Expansion Map 2022

  • Red - Downhill access
  • Yellow - Uphill access
  • Completed trails = 1 - 2 - 3 - 4

The current trail network that runs alongside the South Branch lift in the woods is easily accessed from the South Branch parking lot. The trail begins above where the magic carpet sits. Trail access requires a bike park ticket. We will post Summer 2022 bike park ticket info soon. Crews will be working to complete the trail 6 uphill route over the summer.
