Saddleback Access Road Clean Up Day
Saturday, May 8, 2021
In an effort to support the greater Rangeley 5th Annual Trash Pick Up Day and give back to its home mountain, the Rangeley Alpine Ski Club has chosen to adopt the Saddleback Access Road and provide for its cleanup.
A Note from RASC:
The Rangeley Alpine Ski Club (RASC) had an amazing first year back at Saddleback. We’ve grown from a small local club without a mountain, to an expanding club now firmly rooted in the Saddleback Community. Having a home mountain doesn’t just provide our athletes with a tremendous amount of ‘on snow time’, it also gives them a sense of community and responsibility. Most of the kids began their racing careers at the Bea Wee Lollipop races. It was important for all of us to see that tradition continue, so we teamed up with the Roger Page Ski School and were thrilled to see our RASC kids helping host the races this year. You might have also seen members of the RASC cleaning up under the Rangeley Chair all season long. We take pride in the mountain and want to take it one step further and adopt the Saddleback Access Road and provide for its spring cleanup. Saddleback has been a wonderful partner in supporting the Club. All winter long, they prepared and made available the best snow and race surfaces the Club could ask for. We are so grateful to be a part of this chapter in Saddleback’s story and will continue to look for ways in which we can give back to the mountain and the community.
