Trails
For generations, a trip to Rangeley was the ultimate angler's dream…the premier
fishing destination in North America. To honor this rich outdoor heritage, Saddleback's
trails are named for the famous fishing flies created right here by Rangeley
legends Carrie Stevens, Bud Wilcox and Dick Frost. Our latest addition of Casablanca,
New England’s largest glade, is just one of the many fly names on the mountain.
Others include Supervisor, Peachy's
Peril, Royal Tiger, and America.
All of the chair lifts at Saddleback are named after popular fly fishing rivers, such as the Rangeley
River, South Branch (of the Dead River) and the Magalloway
River.
Fly fishing is very popular in the Rangeley Lakes Region. Many waters in the Rangeley area are fly-fishing only. The two most popular spots for casting are the Kennebago River and the Upper Dam on Mooselookmeguntic Lake.
