Rangeley Lakes Region
The charming town of Rangeley is nestled among the Western Mountains of Maine
on the edge of Rangeley Lake. This welcoming community offers off-mountain
fun for the whole family.
Maine's Rangeley Lakes Region has been considered
a legendary destination for years because of its incredible natural beauty
and its year-round vacation
opportunities. For over 100 years, visitors, including President Herbert
Hoover, have come to Rangeley, lured by world-class fly fishing. At the
turn of the
century, large resort hotels sprung up, railroads replaced dirt roads,
and recreation and tourism became the mainstay of the people who lived
in Rangeley.
Now, through carefully maintaining the easy-paced way of life and preserving
the breathtaking wilderness, the town of Rangeley is still one of America's
most loved vacation destinations.
The charming town of Rangeley, with 1,500 year round residents, is the
centerpiece of this renowned vacation region. Along Main
Street you will find shops, restaurants, a book store,
sporting goods shops, and even an old-fashioned movie
theater, all just minutes away from Saddleback. The region
offers a variety of bed & breakfasts, motels, lodges,
cabins and the historic Rangeley Inn.
Saddleback has established a Guest Service
Center on Main Street in
downtown Rangeley. Here all guests are welcomed to ask questions,
get recommendations
for activities or even dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant.
Our concierge service is convenient and the staff is eager to assist
in making
your stay
in Rangeley the best that it can be.
Only 95 roads in the United States
have been designated National Scenic Byways or All-American Roads and
Rangeley is home to one. The
Rangeley
Lakes National Scenic Byway offers fantastic vistas of crystal
clear lakes and snow
covered mountains. This drive follows Routes 17 and 4, wrapping
around Rangeley Lake.
