More and more families are joining the Saddleback family. With increased enrollment we can now offer you even more of the programs you have asked for.
Saddleback is the only major ski resort in Maine that offers season long programs that have a Saturday only option. We know that many families in Maine want to offer their children the opportunity to ski and snowboard throughout the season but cannot manage to commit to both Saturday and Sunday.

Saddleback’s Meisters program grew 75% in number of participants last season alone! We hope that you’ll all be part of Meisters this coming winter!

We offer season long programs for all ages, whether you are 3 years old looking forward to your first season on skis or an adult with many winters to your credit. The Meisters program, for children and adults, is a great way to develop friendships at Saddleback and enhance your skiing and riding skills.

Participants are grouped based on age, terrain and speed preferences, and by individual goals. As always, we are offering the Meisters Guarantee: if, after attending two sessions, you decide the program isn’t right for you we will refund your payment in full.

All children enrolled in any Meisters program receive additional lessons throughout the year at a 50% discount.

We require a minimum of 3 participants to create a group.

Students will be grouped according to age, skill level, and terrain preference.  We require a minimum of 3 students at each ability level to form a group.

Meisters and Mini Meister Programs

Mini-Meisters
This half-day program is for children who are brand new to the sport and for those who are not yet ready for a full day on the slopes. Our student centered philosophy, very small class sizes and 4 miles of beginner terrain, located below our base lodge, make this program an excellent choice for anyone wanting to give their child the best introduction to skiing possible.
Ages 3-6. Saturdays from 9–11AM. January 5 to March 30.
Our licensed day care has multi day packages to accommodate the care of children for the afternoons and Sundays.

Meisters Ski Program
Our Meisters skiing program offers great instruction, a student-centered philosophy, and lots of fun. Meisters helps our participants improve their technique as well as conquer more of the mountain! We have groups suited to every ability level.  Ages 3-15. Saturdays from 9–11 and 12-2. January 5 to March 30.
This full-day program is now open to our youngest skiers; however, we recommend a half-day program for 3 and 4 year olds that are new to the sport and for all children 6 and younger that do not yet have the energy for a full day of successful skiing.
Our licensed day care has multi day packages to accommodate the care of children for the afternoons and Sundays.

Meisters Snowboard Program
Our Meisters snowboarding program offers great instruction, a student-centered philosophy, and lots of fun. Meisters helps our participants improve their technique as well as conquer more of the mountain! We have groups suited to every ability level.
Ages 7-15. Saturdays from 9–11 and 12-2. January 5 to March 30.
In our regular daily Ski and Ride School lessons we offer our special one-on-one snowboard instruction to children 3–6 years old.

Saddleback Specialty Ski and Snowboard Programs 2012-2013

New This Season!
Junior Instructor Training Program
Combined class for skiers and snowboarders 11-14 year old.  We have added this program because each year more of the teenagers at Saddleback have decided they want to work in the Ski and Ride School. It has become the “place” to be and we are thrilled to have them and all their positive enthusiasm, energy, and ability to relate to children.

This program will focus on developing technical skills in their skiing and riding and applying those skills to instruction. Young adults choosing this option will spend time training together as well observing and assisting other Meister groups and exploring the mountain. This program is intended to prepare participants for possible employment with Saddleback Ski and Ride School or an opportunity to see if that might be a good fit for you. Students must be comfortable on blue terrain.

New This Season!
Back Country & Off Piste Program
Combined class for advanced skiers and snowboarders 11-14 year old.

This new program is for advanced skiers and snowboarders who want to explore the back-country. It will focus first on back-country safety. Participants will learn proper planning, winter shelter building, and then participants will take those skills into our glades and beyond.

Participants will need:
Either skis with climbing skins or split snowboard with climbing skins, or ski/snowboard and snowshoes.
A backpack that is designed to carry skis, snowboards, and snowshoes and other gear.
This group will do at least one overnight. Location to be determined. This is another exciting addition and like other Meister’s programs it will develop to meet the goals of it’s participants.

We are dividing our freestyle programs into groups who want to play in the Terrain Park and those who would prefer to explore the glades and moguls. See all the details below.

For advanced skiers 8-15 years comfortable on black diamond trails and glades.
This program is for skiers who want to explore and improve their skills on the entire mountain with a focus on the steeps, glades, and moguls.

For advanced skiers 8-15 years who live to jump, spin and slide rails in the Park.
Participants will learn park safety and protocol and each will advance at their own pace and comfort level.

Adult Meisters

These adult programs are for adults of any ability level.

• Improve your technique. “The better you get the better it gets.”
• Meet new friends who enjoy the same trails and speed that you do. We all know how little fun it is if everyone is always waiting for you.
• End this season skiing through Casablanca and breathing at the same time.
• Conquer the moguls and ungroomed conditions.
• Find out how some people make it look so easy.

TUESDAY TUNE-UP

Our Tuesday Tune-Up program continues to be a favorite for adults who can get away on Tuesdays to enjoy Saddleback.  Participants are grouped according to skiing ability and preferred choice of terrain.  Already one of the best priced skiing products in the industry, the extra bonus of a free coffee and muffin every week at 9am makes it a great way to spend a Tuesday morning making new friends and improving your skiing technique.

Saddleback Alpine Race Programs 2012-2013

Jr. Alpine Race Development Program

This program is designed for athletes who are interested in alpine race training. The focus of this program will be to meet the goals of each athlete and to improve their skiing skills to perform at their best on and off the race course.
Saturdays only Jan 7th – March 31.
9am-11am and 12pm-2pm
Minimum class size 3

SaddleBack Ski Club

The primary purpose of the SaddleBack Ski Club (SBSC) is to provide a high level of technical and tactical skiing skills for intermediate and above skiers aged 8-18. It is a complete team effort that involves professionally certified and experienced coaches, athletes, parents and mountain management.
