Saddleback's Own Van Weisz Takes First Place in USASA Slope Style Event
This past Sunday, February 17. Saddleback hosted its first annual USASA sponsored Slope Style Event. The event was held in the newly designed Freerider Terrain Park on the Wheeler Slope. Spectators werer able to view the event from the sun deck of Saddleback's beautiful post and beam Base Lodge.
"The Freericer Terrain Park was hand tuned to perfection and the USASA competitors who hailed from all over New England, got to see what all the Saddleback "buzz" has been about." according to Mark Robie, Director of the the Ski and Ride School.
Saddleback's own Van Weisz who joined the USASA for the day to be able to compete, took first place in his class.
Saddleback Maine currently has five lifts and 60 trails with a 2000 ft. vertical drop. It is only one of seven ski mountains in New England with a top elevation over 4000 feet.
