The Class B High School Ski Racing Championships are now history. Falmouth won the overall combined Alpine & Nordic Boys. The overall Alpine & Nordic combined girls was won by Yarmouth. The awards were presented on the lodge deck this afternoon as pictured here. Congratulations to ski Meisters Sean Daigle of Maranacook & Rebecca Bell of Yarmouth!

The Grey Ghost trail was taken back from the racers and given back to the skiing public this morning. Before opening this morning, the groomers totally rebuilt that trail. They tilled up the entire base, redistributed the snow and then laid out the smooth corduroy packed powder surface. It skied as though it had received fresh snow. This has been one of the tactics that we have employed throughout this week and why the surfaces have remained so nice, even with the holiday skier traffic. In addition to the typical nightly grooming schedule, we have selected a trail a night to do a total rebuild. We did Tight Line twice, Royal Coachman once and Green Weaver was done Tuesday night. Tonight Blue Devil will get the extra treatment with a total rebuild. I would recommend that trail first thing tomorrow morning.

We have had some light snow showers but just a dusting of accumulation. Snow showers remain in the forecast into Saturday morning. The next opportunity for accumulating snow looks to be Tuesday & Wednesday of next week. Keep your fingers crossed as it would be nice to get a powder day!
