It looks to be a promising weekend ahead with lots of things to see and do at Saddleback and in Rangeley. First, the weather outlook is fantastic with good temperatures, sunshine and calm winds. The snow surfaces are groomed and ready and even the steep headwalls of Supervisor and Tight Line will be in the best possible shape. Even our local weather people are announcing that "this is a weekend to get outside and play".

This will be a very active weekend for the Rangeley area. Saturday is PEAK Day, a day for honor roll students with Saddleback PEAK Passes to get together for a group photo and camaraderie. Bob Crowley, of survivor fame, will be here as well. Bob was our celebrity spokesperson when we first announced the program with the Governor back in September.  Sunday is Maine Day, which occurs the first Sunday of each month. Maine residents can ski for just $35 with proof of residency. Also, don't forget ski with management on Sunday morning at 7:30. Meet us at the base of the Rangeley Chair and ski with us for one hour prior to the lifts opening.

Aside from all the action here on the mountain, this is New England Pond Hockey weekend in Rangeley. There are over 30 teams competing with two divisions. Seven teams are masters, over 50 years of age. The rest are in the open division which is aged 20 and over. I understand wild things can happen in Rangeley during hockey weekend. It may be worthwhile to spend some time at Haley Pond to check out the action. The finals are at 1 PM Sunday. So, listen to the weatherman, and get outside this weekend for some winter fun!
