We are all excited at Saddleback, as we are heading into what should be a great weekend of skiing & riding! Last week's big snow put the mountain into near full operation. Each day this week, we have picked up small amounts of snow which has freshened surfaces for each morning. We expect another freshening tonight as we should see more light snow. Snow surfaces do not get better than what we have to offer right now! The forecast looks tranquil, with sunshine and calm winds expected for both Saturday & Sunday. Snowmaking is just getting fired up on Tight Line and America. We will have those two trails closed while we load them up with a deep base of snow. The glades are skiing well, and the new Casablanca glade is ready to welcome many excited tree skiers & riders.

Two events to remind you about, Saturday we host the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge on the Silver Doctor. This is a fun race with numerous age categories and a variety of team pairings. There is no entry fee and there are a lot of prizes to give away. Sunday is Saddleback's Veterans Day. All veterans from all branches of the US armed forces may ski for free! Veterans who do not know how to ski may take a learn to ski package for only $49. There will be a short ceremony at 11:45 in the fireplace room to honor all of our veterans. We will have a band and bag pipers for the ceremony. This should be a very special day for our vets. Don't forget, Sunday morning skiing with the management at 7:30 AM at the Rangeley Double. I will be there along with many of our management team and we look forward to taking a few runs with you. I will see you there!
